About Me
I'm India, a travel and fashion journalist from Hertfordshire. I recently became a Master's graduate from Nottingham Trent Univerity after undertaking an MA in Magazine Journalism, where I achieved my NCTJ Diploma. Over the course of my MA degree, I have developed strong news and feature-writing abilities and gained experience of technologies such as InDesign, Premiere Pro and Lightroom. I also have a keen understanding of how to use social media to increase traffic and the role played by analytics and SEO.
I have experience in both national and local publications including The Sunday Times Travel magazine and High Life magazine for British Airways.
Interest includes; travel, fashion and health and fitness journalism.

Work Experience
High Life magazine | British Airways | Cedarcom Publications
During my time at High Life magazine, I undertook a variety of tasks. I assisted the editor and editorial assistant in research tasks, pitched ideas for the monthly London Now pages, conducted interviews, wrote copy for upcoming issues and represented the brand at PR events for Park Hotels, Radio Rooftop Bar and Savant Salon. Several pieces of my work are set to be published in their upcoming August and September (style) issues onboard all British Airway flights with an audience of 3.6 million, worldwide.
Work includes; Sophia Webster’s fall 2018 shoe collection, David Morris diamonds, British Airways Gin Festival, hotel reviews for Royalton Park Avenue New York and MGM Park hotel Las Vegas, Hackney Arts Centre and Roisin Murphy’s ‘My London.’
The Sunday Times Travel Magazine | Monthly magazine
I helped the editorial team put together content for future issues. Tasks included writing and editing features to house style, sourcing images, pitching ideas and research. My feature was published in the May 2018 issue.
Work includes; Overview of Memento Park in Budapest, Hungry for their ‘take me there...’ pages.
Hertfordshire Life Magazine | Archant Publications
My responsibilities at Hertfordshire Life was to help the editorial team put together content for their upcoming issue. This involved picture sourcing, conducting interviews and writing and editing features to house style. The main feature I completed whilst there was recently published in their June 2018 issue and was the cover story.
Work includes; Vincent Van Gogh feature about his early life when he walked from Margate in Kent to Old Welwyn in Hertfordshire to see his sister and also several book reviews.

Responsibilities include creating a content schedule, research and creating content ideas, social media strategy and management, graphics creation and communication. Blogging has enabled me to build networks with readers and has led to opportunities to work with local brands and companies. Through my time managing the blog I have developed skills including SEO, traffic analysis and measurement, photography, editing using Photoshop and Lightroom, writing, and using WordPress.
